Kentucky State Police have arrested a man in McCracken County who was wanted for double-homicide out of Rowan County.
According to KSP, at around 10:15 a.m. on Friday, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department conducted a welfare check at a residence on South Spring Street in Morehead, Kentucky and once there, found two deceased victims inside of the home.
That initial investigation led to 44-year-old Joshua Cottrell of Morehead being charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of 37-year-old Kayla Blake and her 13-year-old daughter, Kennedi McWhorter, both of Morehead.
Cottrell would be located at a Paducah hospital later that same day, where he was taken into custody after being treated and released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
