Local grand jury issues indictments for endangerment, imprisonment

A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for wanton endangerment, imprisonment and assault crimes on Friday. 

Forty-one-year-old Willard Turner of Springfield, Illinois, was indicted for multiple charges after he was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol or a substance and put other motorists at risk of injury or death on July 25. 

Turner was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, operating a motor vehicle on a DUI-suspended license, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or a substance, reckless driving and other traffic-related offenses.

Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Parker was indicted for first-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree strangulation after he reportedly choked a victim and prevented them from leaving or calling 911 on August 17. 

Thirty-six-year-old Starnesha Murphy of Hopkinsville was indicted for second-degree assault domestic violence after she reportedly struck a victim with her car, resulting in them suffering injuries to their legs and feet on August 4.
