Bridge repairs to continue on I-24 in Christian County

Repairs on Interstate 24 in Christian County continue and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that work is set to move to the inner westbound lane starting on Thursday.

The repairs will take place on the West Fork Red River Bridge at mile point 91.4, which will lead to the inner lane be closed between mile points 91.2 to 92.6. In the lane restricted area, the speed limit will be 55 mph.

The cabinet advises drivers to be alert for the lane closure and construction crews working in the area. To avoid the work zone, the cabinet says drivers can take I-65 to I-165, and follow the road to the Western Kentucky Parkway, and then take I-69 which will rejoin I-24 in Lyon County.

The repairs are set to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
