Pennyroyal Hospice to host benefit concert featuring Alex Miller

Pennyroyal Hospice provides palliative care to residents in Christian, Todd, Trigg, Lyon and Caldwell counties, and to support those operations, the hospice center is inviting the community to a benefit concert.

Former American Idol contestant and Kentucky Proud Agriculture Ambassador Alex Miller will be the headliner, and fellow country artist Bill Wence will be the opening act. Pennyroyal Hospice Executive Director Kelly Martin says they have been trying for some time to host a country music benefit concert, and calls it a chance for them to celebrate agriculture.

Martin met Miller and says he is a down-to-earth guy and describes his music as a throwback to older country music.

Martin says Wence has worked with singers Bobby Bare, Tom T. Hall, and many others throughout his career, and during his performance, he will be sharing some of those experiences.

The benefit concert will take over Valor Hall Event Center in Oak Grove on November 1 at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at pennyroyalhospice.com. Doors open 5 p.m. and folks are invited to come early to check out antique tractor and farm equipment displays as well as enter into a raffle.
