Over the course of the week, multiple citizens have filed paperwork to run for political and law enforcement offices in Christian County.
On Christian County’s Fiscal Court, District One Magistrate Magaline Ferguson, District Four Magistrate J.E. Pryor, District Six Magistrate Philip Peterson and District Eight Magistrate John Bruce have filed to be reelected to their current seats.
Ferguson is running as a Democrat, while the three other fiscal court candidates are running as Republicans. All fiscal court candidates are currently running unopposed.
Current Hopkinsville Police Deputy Chief Erik Pacheco filed to run as a Republican for the position of Christian County Sheriff. Pacheco will face current Christian County Sheriff Tyler DeArmond in the primary election.
Then Brian Diamond filed to run for the District Eight Christian County Constable seat, and Sherry Byerline filed to run for the District Seven Christian County Constable seat. Both filed as Republicans.
Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel has filed for reelection and is running as a Republican.
Then, from the Hopkinsville City Council, Ward Four Council Member Chuck Crabtree told WHOP that he will not be running for reelection.
