The Princeton Police Department has served an indictment warrant against the man charged in connection with the shooting death of a 34-year-old man in Princeton earlier this year.
According to a news release, the indictment warrant for one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder was served to 20-year-old Hector Miguel Pena of Princeton on Monday. He is accused of shooting 34-year-old Jerrod Cooper of Princeton multiple times at a home in the 300 block of Beverly Lane in October.
Cooper was flown to a Nashville hospital, where he would later succumb to his injuries.
Pena was originally charged with first-degree assault, but that has been amended. He remains lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
