One hurt in Morningside Drive collision

One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Morningside Drive on New Year’s Eve.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, a vehicle operated by 38-year-old Kenneth Branch of Hopkinsville was stopped at the stop sign, when he pulled out onto South Virginia Street just as another vehicle was heading south on South Virginia.  Branch reportedly told officers he never saw the other vehicle and the two collided.

The driver of the second vehicle, 45-year-old Courtney McCombs of Hopkinsville, was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.  Branch was not injured.

Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
