Following a break in the action after the Hopkinsville Christmas Parade in December, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation is gearing up for a 2026 full of events and activities.
According to a news release, the schedule is packed full of events, with the first big event set for April 3 at Tiebreaker Park—and that’s the WHOP’er of an Egg Hunt, set to take place at 7:30 p.m. that night. This year’s schedule also includes festivals, programs and races, reflecting Parks and Rec’s determination to provide family-friendly programming that promotes health and wellness, community connection and inclusion.
Some specific events on the calendar include several baseball tournaments, Hoptown Nights, Squealin’ on the Square in June, Red, White and Ohhhh! Community Fireworks Show on July 4, Movies Under the Stars starting in June, the Summer Salute Festival on September 11 and 12, the Annual Pennyrile Senior Games, the Hoptown Half-Marathon and 5K in October, Downtown Trick-or-Treating and much, much more.
You can find that schedule on hoptownrec.com/events, and residents are encouraged to mark their calendars and stay connected for registration information and updates as events draw closer.
Superintendent Toby Hudson says, “Our team works year-round to create a schedule that brings people together and makes the most of our parks and facilities. The 2026 schedule continues that tradition, offering a strong mix of returning favorites and new experiences we’re excited to share with the community.”
