Grand Jury returns indictments for sex crimes, abuse, wanton endangerment

A Christian County Grand Jury returned numerous indictments Friday, including for various sex related crimes, wanton endangerment and more.

Indicted for two counts of third-degree sodomy, attempted third-degree sodomy, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and illegal sexual activity—victim under 18 years old is 34-year-old Jason Bartee of Oak Grove. He is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a 16-year-old victim in September of 2023 and of assisting or causing a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.

Indicted for first-degree criminal abuse against a child under 12 years of age is 26-year-old Michael Jared James Curry of Oak Grove—he is accused of intentionally abuse two minor children, thereby placing them in a situation that could have caused serious physical injury or by causing torture or cruel punishment.

Sixty-three-year-old Gregory Harris of Hopkinsville was indicted for four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, which stems from investigation to an incident in October where he allegedly engaged in wanton conduct that caused substantial threat of injury or death to several individuals, including a minor.

The grand jury indicted 23-year-old Eric Blaine of Hopkinsville with first-degree wanton endangerment, two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police and several traffic violations in relation to a pursuit in Christian County in October.
