Wreck ends in injuries, charges

A Hopkinsville woman is facing charges related to a reported hit-and-run collision at the intersection of South Virginia Street and East Ninth Street on Monday.

The two-vehicle collision happened just before 4 a.m. in the intersection, according to the Hopkinsville police report, between a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Desiree Youngblood of Hopkinsville and another vehicle driven by 36-year-old Domanique Rodgers of Hopkinsville.  Two passengers in Youngblood’s vehicle were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Rodgers reported went to the hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

Youngblood allegedly fled the scene on foot before police arrived but was located later walking at the intersection of North Drive and Glass Avenue.  She reportedly told them she had left the scene because she needed time to “cool off”

She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
