After ten years of calling downtown Hopkinsville home, Milkweed Health & Harmony Emporium will be closings its doors for business.
Julie-Anna Carlisle opened Milkweed at the corner of East Ninth Street and South Virginia Street with the hope that it would become more than just a business—and in a post to social media Monday, she says she thinks they were able to achieve that goal.
She says she’s proud to have been able to spotlight local artisans and bring a service to Hopkinsville that had been empty before. Now, Carlisle says she intends to focus on her own art and on spending time with the people that matter most.
A lot has changed for Carlisle and her family in those ten years, and she says now she’s ready to embrace a life that’s a little calmer, filled with the laughter of her grandchildren.
Milkweed’s final day will be Saturday, March 28, and folks are invited to come by and stock up on their favorite teas, specialty items and minerals and more, and bid farewell and good cheer to Julia-Anna and the others at Milkweed.
