Hopkinsville Police are investigating after inappropriate AI-generated images depicting minors were reportedly distributed at a Christian County public school.
In a statement from CCPS, officials say the safety and well-being of their students and staff remain their highest priority, and they are fully cooperating with police as they conduct their investigation. HPD received the reports concerning the inappropriate images on February 18.
Concerning the investigation, Hopkinsville Police Chief Jason Newby asked parents and guardians to monitor their children’s electronics and social media during Monday’s installment of Chat’s with Chief. He says not only is the act a crime, but it can result in some children getting serious charges.
HPD Public Information Officer Justin Rios says as the investigation continues, not a lot of information can be shared, but the safety of the students in the community remains their top priority.
