Pennyroyal Arts Council looks to gather local history as big milestones approach

The Pennyroyral Arts Council is getting ready to celebrate a couple of big birthdays in the coming years, and they’re asking for the public’s help in gathering local history.

The Arts Council itself turns 50 years old in 2027, and then in 2028, there will be a big milestone celebrated with the historic Alhambra Theatre turns 100-years-old. Speaking with WHOP recently, Executive Director Margaret Prim says if you’ve got pictures, video or any other piece of history you’d be willing to share, they would love to document that as they prepare for a special celebration.

She says everyone has a story of the Alhambra—from their first movie to their first dates, school performances and productions and so much more—and they want to hear them.

The Pennyroyal Arts Council is open Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., but if you can’t make it by, you can also submit your history through a link that can be found on the Pennyroyal Arts Council Facebook page.

Keep in mind that by submitting, you’re giving the council permission to feature your materials in anniversary storytelling, exhibits, and promotional materials.
