Parks and Recreation excited to roll out ‘Hoptown Nights’ events this year

As spring tries to nudge its way into the region, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation is already looking forward to new events they have planned for the season.

New this year will be the start of Hoptown Nights, which Program Coordinator Jacob Gibson with Parks and Rec says is a sort of restructuring of the previous Sounds at Six events they would host downtown. He says they have six Hoptown Nights planned, and it will be taking place within the Downtown Entertainment District to show off the amazing businesses that call that area home.

He laid out the schedule—the first Hoptown Nights will take place April 23, then they’ll have one in May, June, July and August, before wrapping up in October with the Military Affairs Committee Chili Cook-Off.

New this year will be Movie Under the Stars, and Gibson says they have a poll up on the Parks and Recreation Facebook page to see what kind of movies folks would like to see play.

You can find the fully event schedule on their website, hoptownrec.com, or if you have any questions concerning an event, you can give them a call at 270-887-4290.
