Police arrest Hopkinsville man for sex related crimes

Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 28-year-old Josh Reyes of Hopkinsville after a report was made regarding a rape and instance of child sex abuse Tuesday night.

According to a report from police, Reyes was found by a woman to be committing a sexual act while he was in bed with a minor who was asleep. After the woman found Reyes, he then reportedly requested sex from her to which she refused. Reyes then allegedly went on to use force to initiate sex and choked the woman cutting off her airway.

The woman was reportedly able to kick Reyes off of her. Reyes is charged with first-degree rape domestic violence, first-degree strangulation and first-degree sexual abuse of a minor under 12 years of age.
