HCC invites the community to second annual Color Run

To highlight the importance of physical health while having fun, Hopkinsville Community College is inviting folks to its second annual Color Run on April 25.

HCC Advancement Specialist Pat Hinton appeared on WHOP and shared that 119 people are currently registered for the run, and this year’s 5K course was redrawn and will take people around the campus.

Across the course, volunteers will toss a colored powder on participants. The powder is non-toxic, biodegradable and is designed to wash off clothing easily, but attendees are still encouraged to wear clothing that they don’t mind getting a little colorful.

The run is free to participate in, and Hinton says those who complete the course will receive a medal and a swag bag filled with HCC goodies. Participants will also receive a running bib, an event t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses.

Those interested in joining the Color Run can register by filling out a form linked to the College’s Facebook page, the deadline is April 6 at 4:30 p.m. On the day of the Color Run, check in will be in front of the Emerging Technologies Building parking lot from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Then, the run will start at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.
