A home was badly damaged by fire on South Campbell Street late Thursday night.

According to Hopkinsville Fire Department Captain Payton Rogers, firefighters responded to the 1700 block of South Campbell for reports of a fire in the area just before midnight. Crews arrived to find a home in flames, with multiple stations then responding to the scene.

All occupants were able to escape without injury, and fire fighters worked until after 3 a.m. to fully extinguish the blaze, as the fire had made its way into the attic. A pet does remain missing as of Friday morning.

No firefighters were injured in the incident, and the Red Cross was called to assist the family with placement.
