Governor Andy Beshear is ordering that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff on Saturday to honor Technical Sergeant Ashley Pruitt of Bardstown who died on March 12 while supporting Operation Epic Fury.
According to the Department of Defense, Pruitt was assigned to the 6th Air Refueling Wing from MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. She was among five other airmen who died when a KC-135 refueling tanker crashed in western Iraq.
In a post to Facebook, MacDill Air Force Base leaders shared that Pruitt was a loving wife and caring mother who embraced her military brothers and sisters as family. She enlisted in the Air Force in 2017.
