Garden and Outdoor Living Expo takes over Ag. Expo Center in Hopkinsville this weekend

Gardeners, plant-lovers, those passionate about yard up-keep and even if you’re just looking to take care of a single houseplant, all are welcome this Friday and Saturday to the Garden and Outdoor Living Expo in Christian County.

Hosted by the Christian County Master Gardener’s Association, the Garden and Outdoor Living Expo takes over the Christian County Ag. Extension Office Expo Center starting Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. Ann McCord with the Master Gardener’s says that they have nearly 40 vendors that will not only share their amazing wares, but also help educate you on all the in-and-outs of gardening.

Festivities go until 8 p.m. Friday and then open right back up the next morning at 9 a.m. where the event will roll on until 3 p.m. Along with vendors, there will also be free tool or mower blade sharpening taking place, kids activities and a scavenger hunt, food vendors, seminars, local and regional outdoor living exhibitors, free tree seedlings while supplies last and much more.

McCord says the Master Gardener’s are about 70 strong now, and they’re focused on educating others on the best practices to make your own gardens bloom.

President Kelly Jackson says they started this expo to help answer folks’ questions and help get them in touch with valuable resources right here in the community.

The Ag. Extension Office is located at 2850 Pembroke Road, and you can find more information on the event on the Christian County Master Gardener’s Association Facebook page.
