Bailey, Harris earn state bids at Class 3-A, Region 1 Meet

Christian County’s boys’ track team finished eighth in the Class 3-A, Region 1 Meet Saturday at Henderson County High School.  

Satona Bailey and Chy Harris advanced to the state meet with their performances. 

Bailey took regional runner-up finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes with times of 11.10 seconds and 21.93 seconds, respectively. 

Harris was the runner-up in the High Jump with a leap of 5-feet, 8-inches. 

The Colonels’ Cayden Cline ran fourth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:45.72. 

Christian County’s 4×200-meter relay team of Paul Abren, Satona Bailey, Karmelo Bailey, and Frank Irving was fourth in 1:32.85. 

Henderson County won the team title with 117 points while Marshall County was second (94), and McCracken County was third (77). Christian County had 36 points. 

In the girls’ meet, the Lady Colonels’ Symeria Brown finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.03. 

McCracken County rolled to the team title with 183 points, followed by Daviess County (114), and Owensboro (108). Christian County tied with Madisonville-North Hopkins for eighth place with 10 points.
