The Clarksville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating two individuals wanted in connection to a failed armed robbery on South Riverside Drive.
According to a news release, two individuals entered the Big Lots on South Riverside around 8:40 p.m. on May 15, wearing disposable face masks. One appeared to try and purchase a Slim Jim—when the cashier opened the register, one of the suspects tried to the grab the cash drawer. But the cashier was able to shut it quickly, stopping that action.
That’s when the suspect reportedly pointed a firearm at the clerk and then used a hammer to try and break into the register. After that was unsuccessful, both suspects fled the store on foot. They were last seen running behind a nearby Dairy Queen.
Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspects can call detective sat 931-648-0656, or call Clarksville Crime Stoppers anonymously.
