The decision has been made to move the graduation ceremonies for Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School indoors to the two schools’ gymnasiums, due to the threat of stormy weather.
According to CCPS, the move back into the gyms came about following meetings with local emergency management, school administrators and senior student representatives. Right now, the likelihood of rain, lightning and storms is higher than 70 percent as of noon Friday, so officials believe moving the ceremonies indoors is the best call, in the name of keeping everyone safe.
Each graduate has been given ten tickets for family and friends for the indoor ceremonies. There are no extra tickets available and each attendee, regardless of age will need a ticket.
Christian County students will graduate in Lyle Dunbar Gym at 5 p.m., with the doors opening at 4 p.m. while Hopkinsville High students will graduate at 8:30 p.m. at Tiger Gym.
A livestream will be provided at The PAC at Christian County Middle School as an overflow for up to 400 for anyone wishing to watch the ceremonies at 5PM and 8:30PM and you can also find those livestreams on the CCPS YouTube page or Here for CCHS and Here for HHS.
No bags will be allowed in either location, and all guests must enter through weapons detection screening.
