Four charged in $20k copper wire theft investigation

Four individuals have been charged in connection with the theft of over $20,000 worth of copper wire in Crofton.

Extensive investigation by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department as led to charges against 50-year-old Craig Willey of Hopkinsville, 41-year-old Paul Edmonds of Crofton, 41-year-old Mark Holsapple of Hopkinsville and 39-year-old Jacob Baker of Crofton.

Baker and Holsapple are both charged with first-degree criminal mischief, with Baker charged with theft by unlawful taking and Holsapple charged with first-degree criminal trespassing. Edmonds is charged with felony receiving stolen property.

Willey is facing charges of felony theft by unlawful taking, first-degree criminal mischief and criminal trespassing in connection with the copper wire investigation, but he’s also facing charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Those charges stem from execution of a search warrant at his home, which reportedly revealed suspect methamphetamine that was in easy reach of two children, creating a real risk to the children.
