The Full Count Rhythm and Hoptown Hoppers faced off in a battle of first-place teams in the Ohio Valley League on Tuesday night in Hendersonville, Tenn.
In the end, the Rhythm came away with a 10-2 victory, sending the Hoppers to their first loss of the season.
Hoptown took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning using a couple of singles and a walk.
However, Full Count came back with four runs in the bottom of the inning and then added two in the third and a run in the fourth to push the lead to 7-2.
The Rhythm put the game out of reach with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Reed Hayes led Hoptown with a pair of hits and two stolen bases.
Jon Michael Lewis suffered the pitching loss for Hoptown, which slipped to 4-1 on the season.
Hoptown is off today but will return to action Thursday at Madisonville, who they beat 6-0 to start the season last week. The Miners are still seeking their first win of the season and are 0-5.
