Bomb threat investigated at Vanderbilt-Clarksville

A bomb threat shutdown Vanderbilt Clarksville for several hours Sunday, as officers cleared the campus and investigated the threat.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the call came in after 10 a.m. Sunday morning where a caller claimed that several individuals had place pipe bombs around the property of Vanderbilt Clarksville, which used to be Tennova Healthcare.

Numerous agencies responded and conducted searches of the building’s entrances, trash cans, dumpsters and the building’s perimeter at the hospital’s request.

Following an extensive search, the Clarksville Police Department determined the threat did not appear to be viable, though they will continue to investigate the source of the threat.

As of Sunday afternoon, Vanderbilt Clarksville was back open to the public, resuming normal operations.
