The Chair Project returns to benefit Sanctuary, Inc.

The Chair Project: Elevating Art for Sanctuary, is gearing up for its second-year, as the community art initiative looks to raise awareness and funds to benefit Sanctuary, Inc.

Artists are encouraged to build, embellish, re-imagine, or completely transform a chair that will be entered into a silent auction fundraiser. The Chair Project was inspired by local artist Julie-Anna Carlisle, who worked to create a meaningful fundraising opportunity for Sanctuary. The re-imagined chair art pieces reflects the services provided by Sanctuary, such as support, stability, comfort and a place of refuge.

The public art viewing and silent auction will take place on June 26, but artists interested in participating must register by June 12. You can do so online through milkweedstore.com.

The event will began at 5 p.m. June 26 at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company with the silent auction bidding beginning at 5 p.m. with the auction concluding at 7 p.m. Awards will be announced at 6 p.m., recognizing the outstanding artists in their respective categories.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view and bid on a variety of imaginative and one-of-a-kind chair creations while supporting an important cause. New this year, folks will be able to view the artwork online through the Chair Project’s official Facebook page, and will allow for bidders to place a bid by phone.
