Princeton Police arrest man following a hit-and-run wreck

Princeton Police Officers arrested 56-year-old Jessie Bowles of Princeton after he was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run collision and brandished a firearm on Wednesday.

According to a report, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Market Street and Seminary Street for a hit-and-run collision. One of the drivers, later identified as Bowles, fled the scene and abandoned his vehicle at the Locust Street and Seminary Drive intersection.

Officers later located Bowles, and he was reportedly armed with a pistol and brandished it at bystanders. Bowles reportedly attempted resisting arrest, but was taken into custody and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

A search of Bowles’ vehicle reportedly unveiled an additional firearm, open alcohol containers and marijuana. The vehicle also belongs to one of Bowles’ family members and he allegedly did not have permission to use it.

Bowles was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, having no operator’s license, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and second-degree disorderly conduct.
