A Hopkinsville man is facing a second-degree assault charge after he allegedly punched a woman in the face on Saturday at a location on Honeysuckle Drive.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Honeysuckle around 12:45 a.m. Saturday for reports of a disturbance and arrived to find the victim and 59-year-old Anthony Mack of Hopkinsville in the front yard.
The victim told officers that Mack had punched her in the face with a closed fist, causing serious injury. Officers reportedly noted severe swelling and bruising around her eye socket. She also accused Mack of taking her phone from her so she couldn’t call 911.
Mack reportedly told officer they had been arguing and he pushed her off the front porch.
He was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
