Despite some rain, the community gathered in downtown Hopkinsville for the annual HES/Energynet Christmas Parade which included vehicles decked out in holiday decorations and festive parade floats on Saturday.
The Christmas Parade was originally scheduled for December 9, but was postponed due to inclement weather. Hopkinsville Park’s and Recreation Marketing and Events Coordinator Rachel Sanders says she is glad they made the call to reschedule the parade so that the community could safely enjoy the festivities.
The parade was led by an HES utility vehicle decorated in holiday lights and followed by inflatable parade float displays, vintage vehicles and local youth groups showing off their talent.
Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Toby Hudson, says the night went well with around 100 vehicles being driven in the parade.
Both Sanders and Hudson thanked those who sponsored and participated in the parade.
