As the sun set, eager kiddos crowded Tie Breaker Park to chase after little eggs full of candy and for the chance to win toys and the grand prize of $98.70 at Friday’s WHOP’er of an Egg Hunt.
This year’s hunt included approximately 20,000 eggs, and it didn’t take hunters long to collect them all. Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator Pam Rudd says the weather was great for the hunt and believes that around 3,200 children were in attendance. Parks and Recreation Superintendent Toby Hudson says they had a great turnout and appreciate the community for attending.
Parks and Recreation has hosted the Easter egg hunt for around 40 years, and Hudson says that each year, the event continues to grow, and looks forward to hosting it for years to come.
To conclude the hunt, 8-year-old Abbigail Champion took home the $98.70 prize.
