Arrest made in James Village Apartments shooting

A juvenile has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting at the James Village Apartments on September 15 where two people were shot.

According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, investigation began immediately after two 16-year-old male victims sustained gunshot wounds, including one to the leg and another in the arm. Following multiple interviews with witnesses and recovery of video footage, at 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and possession of a handgun by minor.

He was lodged in the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Facility.

The investigation continues, so additional arrests or charges could be made in this case.
