Arts Council invites community to Holiday Hopfest to benefit local theater

The Pennyroyal Arts Council invites the community to their tenth annual Hoptown Holiday Hopfest for an evening of music and the chance to support the historic Alhambra Theatre.

This year’s Hopfest will feature Max Weinberg an American drummer who drummed for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and was also the band leader on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.”

Arts Council Executive Director Margaret Prim says the audience will have the chance to pick what songs Weinberg and his band plays.

Prim says those interested in attending need to grab those tickets quickly because the council is having a flash sale, so tickets that were originally $60 are on sale for $30 for a short period. Ticket sale profits will go toward maintaining the Alhambra Theatre.

Hopfest is set for 7:30 p.m. on November 30 at the Alhambra Theatre. Before Weinberg makes his way to Hopkinsville, Prim says they have two installments Jazz On Stage on Thursday. Prim says tickets are still available for their 8 p.m. jazz show which will include music by composer and songwriter Cole Porter.

Tickets for Hopfest and Jazz On Stage are on sale at pennyroyalarts.org.
