Atmos Energy is reinforcing its commitment to keeping families warm this winter with a $1.5 million donation.
The gas company is partnering with nonprofits across the eight states to help thousands of households pay past-due utility bills and reduce debt ahead of the heating season, ensuring safe and reliable natural gas service throughout the colder months.
Public Affairs Manager Kay Coomes says now is an excellent time for their customers to start getting ready for the winter heating season and that these funds will help their most vulnerable neighbors with financial assistance. Helping communities stay warm is an essential pillar of their Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities initiative, and this energy assistance donation is set to benefit the elderly, individuals with disabilities, veterans, families experiencing financial hardship and others who need immediate and easy access to funds. One of the agencies receiving support is the Salvation Army.
Customers in need of energy assistance can quickly connect with an agency by dialing 211 or visiting atmosenergy.com/assistance. For help managing monthly natural gas bills or restoring service, Atmos Energy encourages customers to reach out to its customer service team at 888-286-6700 or log in to the Atmos Energy Account Center.
Coomes also says if customers’ natural gas service has been interrupted for any reason, they urge people to call Atmos Energy now to schedule an appointment for service reconnection – before cold weather sets in.
