If you haven’t heard the news—Buc-ee’s is making it official that their next Kentucky location will be right here in Christian County, off of I-24 in Oak Grove.
It’ll be right off Exit 89 between Oak Grove and Clarksville’s Exit 1, and Oak Grove City Council made it official at Tuesday night’s meeting when they heard from Buc-ee’s Project Coordinator Angela Janik, who says they’re excited about this partnership with Oak Grove that’s been a longtime in the making.
Buc-ee’s had floated the idea of coming to Oak Grove some time ago, but then considered a location near Clarksville for a while, before this announcement Tuesday saw them returning to Oak Grove.
She gave a timeline of what comes next—they hope to finalize closing on the property where the future Buc-ee’s will be located this month, and from there, construction will begin as soon as possible, with a tentative date of a groundbreaking set for 2025.
Mayor Jackie Oliver says this is very exciting for Oak Grove, as the project would bring roughly 200 jobs to the area—if not more—and have a huge impact on local tax revenue.
This will be the third Kentucky location for the mega-gas station chain, with one already located in Smiths Grove and the other in Richmond.
