Building collapse, high water rescues happening as rain continues to fall

The Hopkinsville Fire Department and first responders are conducting high water rescues across the city, with luckily no injuries reported so far.

One water rescue happened at East 14th and South Campbell Streets early this morning when a vehicle drove into high water.  That person was assisted to dry ground by HFD, and did not require EMS or transport.

While in that area, HFD discovered a building had collapsed near Easth Seventh Street and the railroad.  That building was vacant, so no one was injured in the collapse.

An occupant in one vehicle on North Drive was able to get themselves out of the vehicle and make it to safety.
