A Calvert City man has been arrested in connection with a home invasion in Kuttawa last week.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to a residence in Kuttawa after an unknown male suspect—later identified as 46-year-old Justin Harper of Calvert City—kicked in the front door of the home. As the door was kicked in, it struck a female victim.
Family members were able to keep the suspect from entering the home and he fled the scene before people arrived.
Following two-days of investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Western Kentucky Violent Crime Task Force, Harper was named as the suspect and taken into custody on a convenience store in Calvert City.
A search of his vehicle reportedly revealed methamphetamine, over 60 packets of suboxone, marijuana, morphine, various pills and paraphernalia. He will be additionally charged on trafficking charges.
In Lyon County, he’s facing charges of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault. The investigation continues.
