In March, the Christian County Public School System made the decision to host the 2026 graduation ceremonies at each school’s gymnasium. However, after receiving backlash, Superintendent Chris Bentzel announced that the ceremonies will now be hosted at the Stadium of Champions.
At the March 19 Christian County School Board meeting, board members voted to host the graduations for Hopkinsville High School and Christian County High School at each school’s gymnasium to honor the history of both schools before the consolidated high school opens.
Following the vote, the decision received public disapproval. On Thursday, Bentzel shared that they have since met with seniors to receive feedback and decided to move the ceremonies back to the Stadium of Champions.
The 2026 graduation ceremonies will be held on May 22. Christian County High School seniors will graduate at 5 p.m., while Hopkinsville High School seniors will graduate at 8:30 p.m.
