CCPS hovers around 8,000 enrollment, gets visit from Education Commissioner

Christian County students are settling back into the groove of being in school as the second week of school gets underway, and Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Bentzel says enrollment has stayed fairly steady.

Speaking with WHOP Tuesday morning, Bentzel says the number of students attending school in Christian County hasn’t changed much when compared to year’s past, even with some campus changes, hovering right around 8,000.

He says the changes that have been recently, from school campuses to traffic reconfiguring, have been made with student’s best interest in mind, even if they are sometimes inconvenient.

The commissioner for the Kentucky Department of Education, Dr. Robbie Fletcher, made a stop in Christian County recently and toured some facilities and the site of the future consolidated Christian County High School.  Superintendent Bentzel says it was good to have the commissioner visit and see what’s happening in this part of the state.
