A track resurfacing project behind Gateway Academy on Elm Street has been completed, and Christian County Public Schools are inviting the public to see the improvements made.
According to a news release, the newly renovated track will provide student-athletes with a safe, high-quality practice facility while also giving the community a space for walking and physical activity. The project cost roughly $220,000, and is now open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Keep in mind that while the track will be open during those times, school-related events and activities will take priority and could impact track availability.
Assistant Superintendent Jason Wilson says, “We are incredibly proud of this project and the investment made to support both our students and community. This upgraded track enhances our facilities for student use while also creating a safe and accessible space for our community to stay active.”
