Christian County Public Schools has unveiled the new mobile early learning classroom, dubbed “The Cub Cruiser”.
According to a news release, this mobile classroom is a refurbished school bus that will serve as a traveling classroom for children ages five and younger across the community. It is designed to bring early childhood learning to families and caregivers, while providing information on available resources and support programs. The program with the bus will assist in locating, identifying and evaluating children by may be eligible for preschool.
School Readiness Coordinator Kaitlynne Bolinger says, “I look forward to meeting families and providing hands-on, developmentally appropriate lessons on the bus that model effective strategies for parents, offer interventions and resources aimed at increasing our kindergarten readiness rates.”
The mobile classroom was made possible thanks to a $100,000 grant that the district was awarded earlier in the year.
