CCPS welcomes Batey as Director of Special Education

Christian County Public Schools will have a new Director of Special Education starting July 1, as current Assistant Director Corey Batey steps into the lead role.

According to a news release, Batey has 15 years of experience in Christian County Public Schools, which includes serving as a teacher and special education teacher at Hopkinsville Middle School. She later served as a special education consultant and most recently as Assistant Director of Special Education.

Batey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Marshall University, a Master of Arts in Special Education from Austin Peay State University, and a Rank I in Educational Administration along with a Director of Special Education Endorsement from Murray State University. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher

Batey says, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Director of Special Education for Christian County Public Schools after learning and growing so much in my role as Assistant Director. That experience has prepared me for this next step, and I am excited to continue supporting our students, staff, and families while helping move the district forward through collaboration, communication, and a strong commitment to student success.   ”
