Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year-old Tremayne Welch of Hopkinsville for drug trafficking charges while they were attempting to serve an arrest warrant.
Deputies arrived at a location on Braden Street to serve an arrest warrant against Welch for first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault. After making contact with Welch, deputies reportedly found eight bags of suspected methamphetamine in his pants pocket.
A further search of Welch and his car reportedly unveiled a marijuana cigarette, a container with around 114 grams of synthetic marijuana, two digital scales and pieces of foil.
Welch was additionally charged with first-degree trafficking a in a controlled substance, trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
