CCSO, HPD accepting donations of school supplies for students in foster care

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and the Hopkinsville Police Department are teaming up with the Department of Community Based Services to collect school supplies to support children entering the foster system.

During the month of September, all three agencies are accepting donations of school supplies and they can be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office at 701 West Seventh Street in Hopkinsville or at the Hopkinsville Police Department at 101 North Main Street. . Those supplies will be gifted to students in the foster care system throughout the county.

This is part of a year-round endeavor that collects specific items throughout the year—September is school supplies, then October is body care items, November will be cold weather great, December is art supplies and then January they’ll be collecting socks.
