Christian Fiscal Court heard an update from Hopkinsville Electric System at Tuesday’s meeting and approved usage of monies from the Regional Development Agency Program.
The Regional Development Agency, or RDAP, funds in the amount of $175,000 are to help fund the Hopkinsville Industrial Foundation’s efforts to revamp the industrial connector in Commerce Park II.
The City of Hopkinsville is also helping in that endeavor—the project will have a cost of approximately $600,000.
Magistrates heard an update from Hopkinsville Electric System concerning the blue or purple street lights that continue to crop up across Hopkinsville. President and CEO Jeff Hurd says they’ve replaced a sizeable amount of the lights that have proven to be faulty—resulting in their purple color—but there are still more to go, and sometimes new ones crop up.
He says people are welcome to report any blue or purple street lights they think HES may have missed. Some streets lights on Pyle Lane and locations in that area are under the jurisdiction of Pennyrile Electric, so they will have to reported to them.
Christian County Regional Animal Shelter Director Melissa Goff presented the monthly report, saying that in December they took in 289 animals and 296 animals found forever homes.
In other action, magistrates also approved a resolution to accept a grant through the Pennyrile Area Development District for the Trilogy Recovery Center for Women.
