Steve Tribble served as the Judge Executive for Christian County from 1994 to 2023, and to honor his service, the Hopkinsville City Council voted to designate the West 7th Street Bridge as the “Steve Tribble West Side Bridge.”
At Tuesday’s meeting, Christian County Circuit Judge John Atkins read the resolution to rename the bridge, which is near the local jail, and council members unanimously approved it. Tribble thanked everyone who made the bridge designation a reality and says the West Side Community means everything to him.
Tribble says he is proud to be from Hopkinsville’s West Side and shared that the community helped him become who he is today.
A dedication ceremony for the bridge will be hosted later this year.
Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight says the city is working on crafting the 2026-27 fiscal year budget and he is planning on hosting a budget address in early May.
