City seeks nominations for the 2025 Mayor’s Community Awards

By Gabby Cedano

The City of Hopkinsville is once again shining a spotlight on the people and organizations who are working to make the community a better place, and invites folks to submit nominations for the 2025 Mayor’s Community Awards.

Five awards will be presented spotlighting the contributions of local volunteers, an educator, a City of Hopkinsville employee, a nonprofit and a small business. Recipients will be honored by Mayor J.R. Knight at a recognition event in October.

A selection committee will narrow down the top nominations before a panel of judges, appointed by the mayor’s office, review all nominations through a blind evaluation process, ensuring fairness by removing nominee names. Final award recipients will be selected by Mayor Knight.

According to the guidelines, nominees should demonstrate a strong commitment to improving Hopkinsville through voluntary or professional services that positively impacts the community. Residency in Hopkinsville is not required. Submissions should showcase how the nominee’s efforts have influenced the community, whether by launching new programs, fostering collaboration, solving problems in innovative ways or creating long-lasting impact.

The deadline to submit nominations is September 19, at 2 p.m. Nominations can be submitted at hopkinsvilleky.us.
