The Clarksville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the 2022 murder of Naythan Nugent.
According to a news release, the fatal shooting happened on March 15, 2022 in the 300 block of Forest Hills Drive when the 19-year-old Nugent was found inside of a vehicle with a gunshot wound following reports of a shooting in progress. He was declared deceased at the scene.
Investigation led to the eventual indictment of 25-year-old Jacori Steele of Clarksville on one count of first-degree felony murder. On Wednesday, Steele was arrested following a short foot pursuit on Madison Street.
A firearm that had been reported stolen out of Hopkinsville was located during his arrest.
He is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, convicted felon going armed and evading arrest—he bond was set at $320,000.
