The Salvation Army of Clarksville launched their “Raise the Roof” campaign to raise funds to install a new roof for their community hub.
In a news release, the Salvation Army shares that one of their buildings, which is home to their emergency shelter, kitchen, dining hall, administrative offices and chapel has several leaks compromising the building’s infrastructure.
To replace the roof, the nonprofit is working to raise $65,000 by May 31. Corps Officer, Major Kati Chase says the deteriorating condition of their roof has created significant challenges for their operations and leaks not only disrupt their ability to provide services but also jeopardizes the health and safety of those seeking shelter.
To help them reach their goal, the Salvation Army is calling onto the community to contribute toward their $65,000 goal. Those interested in donating can visit southernusa.salvationarmy.org/Clarksville or can scan the QR code.
