Community invited to attending annual reading of the U.S. Constitution Friday

Area judges and the Christian County Bar Association is inviting the community to a full reading of the United States Constitution this Friday.

Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins says the judges serving Trigg and Christian counties, members of the local Bar Association, Court of Appeals Judge Christopher McNeill and Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Shea Nickell will be on hand to read whole sections of the Constitution.

Judge Atkins says, “We judges and lawyers hope the public will accept our invitation to join us for this important civic event. The Constitution is the bedrock of our democracy and we in the Judicial System are honored to show our support for the Rule of Law by reading it publicly every year.”

It will take place Friday at 10 a.m. on the second floor of the Christian County Justice Center. The Knights of Columbus will be on hand, giving out copies of the Constitution and American flags to those in attendance.
