Dawson Springs Independent high school has highest assessment index in the state

With the release of the Kentucky Department of Education Summative Assessment data, a western Kentucky high school has the highest index score of any high school in the state.

The Dawson Springs Independent School District shared the news Wednesday morning—the high school gained a school index of 98.3, which gives them the highest reported index in the state and well into the ‘blue’ designation on the assessment color scale, blue being the highest you can achieve. The junior high school placed in the yellow and the elementary school ranked in the orange.

Officials congratulated Principal Todd Marshall and his staff at the high school on their achievement, but most importantly, the students who made an exceptional showing.

They say in a news release that Dawson Springs Independent has a lot to celebrate, but they also understand that the most difficult part after attaining success is sustaining it.
